Frobenius-Institute

The Frobenius Institute's assignment is to do ethnological, historical and prehistoric research which, ever since the Institute's foundation, has focused primarily on Africa, but also covers South and Southeast Asia, Australia, South and North America and Oceania.

The director is simultaneously professor in the Institute of Historical Ethnology at the University, and in this function responsible for anthropological teaching and research.

The Frobenius Institute is a registered organisation and is associated with the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University as an independent institution.
